PROJECT REQUIREMENTS

Throughout the semester, students will explore the intersection of material science and design by experimenting with various materials and finishes across multiple projects. The objective is to develop a comprehensive understanding of material properties and craftsmanship. Students will source, test, and apply different materials to create prototypes, documenting their findings in a Final Material Lab Magazine. Each project includes presenting a narrative that demonstrates the material's potential within a design context, along with detailed explanations, and physical samples. Regular progress reviews and feedback from the instructor played a crucial role in ensuring the success of each project.
